Renewable Energy Law
Project and Contract Design
We advise companies, property owners, authorities, and associations on projects and plant completion in the field of renewable energies. One focus of our activities in renewable energy law is on solar energy (photovoltaics) and wind energy law.
The Renewable Energy Sources Act (EEG) aims to promote climate and environmental protection, sustainable development of energy supply, reduction of the economic costs of energy supply, conservation of fossil energy resources, and further development of technologies for generating electricity from renewable sources. Legal support for project implementation, including the resolution of contractual, property, and licensing issues, are typical areas of consultation in this context.
Our advice and out-of-court representation, as well as representation before (regulating) authorities and courts, covers emission control and environmental law, nature conservation law, private and public building law, commercial and corporate law, and real estate law.
It is well known that the mobility sector can no longer rely exclusively on the combustion of fossil fuels. However, electric and battery technologies also require raw materials that first have to be mined, i.e., resources.
A certain ambivalence is evident in many areas of the economy and society. This is also true in the ever-expanding IT field, even though it makes work much easier. It seems all the better when one does not just want to be superficially optimistic and see the glass as half full and realizes it is in fact more than half full. This is where “Green ICT” or “Green IT” comes into play.
It saves valuable resources such as money and time and protects the environment when domestic or transatlantic flights can be avoided because project partners can virtually enter the production site under construction using new “collaboration software.” As long as the energy required for computer performance comes from renewable energy sources such as sun, wind, and water, the technology makes another important contribution to progress as “green IT” or “green ICT.”
Equipping the roof of a factory building or data center with an efficient PV system, connecting the AC side to the DC side, aligning the inverters, and getting all contracts “signed and sealed.”
Our clients can expect us to provide support with the legal implementation in these and similar areas.
